I wanted to create an original character, so I made
a list of characteristics I wanted her to have.
This is the product. Just a 'quick' sketch.

Description- Valentine's an 18 year old girl who
has an unknown mental illness. It's caused complete
blindness in her left eye and hallucinations. A
positive aspect of the illness is that her problem-solving,
creative, and physical ability skills have made
a drastic increase in performance. Although her left eye's
useless, the other's made up for the loss,
and she has the eyesight of an eagle (they can
read a newspaper from across a football field!
just a little trivia..) Her hair style changes a LOT (as I
can't stick to ANYTHING) but will always be some
shade of red. Her color choices reflect her name, as
well as the clever placement of hearts in her costumes,
etc.

As for her 'side', she tends to stay on the good side,
as long as her imaginary friends don't get in the way.

The creature she's interacting with in the picture was
something that kind-of came to me while laying on my
back on the bus and watching reflections on the
chrome cieling.

Does her left hand look like it's touching
the creature? That's what I was going for, but looking
at it now, I'm not sure I see it. :/

Update: So I was browsing through Steven Sanchez's stuff, and came across a character he called Valentine. :[ Shiiiit. I might have to rename her or something..
